Amanda Bossard, fresh out of Anchorage High School, in the year 1992, started studying marine biology in 1992. Bossard began her career working in the commercial seafood sector in 1999. In that year, she worked as a fisherman on Murat Aritan's 65-foot halibut boat. It was later transformed into a fishing tender. Bossard who is married to Aritan she has joined teams to take over their respective industries. The two are proponents of conserving renewable and sustainable marine resources. Otolith is a direct wholesale seafood distributor founded within Philadelphia in 2007, by a woman who is now the mother of two children, Bella aged 3, and Andre age 1. Bossard in 2007, a mother of two children Bella, age 3, and Andre 1 and returning to Philadelphia from her native Canada opened otolith as a wholesale direct market seafood distributor. Bossard along with Isabella Andre and Isabella Andre (ages 10 and 12 respectively) return each year, from July to August, to Southeast Alaska for the summer catch of wild salmon. After two months of fishing using hooks, lines and a 42-foot salmon troller they joined Aritan and then sold to local seafood processors.
